Catbridge builds high-speed, two-drum surface winders that improve cycle times and provide superior roll quality. These machines are primarily used to slit and rewind large rolls of papers and nonwovens. Different models are optimized for different maximum finished roll diameters. Two-drum winders can achieve excellent control of roll density for heavier materials such as paperboard. They can also be configured to expertly handle materials ranging from very lightweight nonwoven fabrics to coated and uncoated papers, tissue and toweling, and some laminates.
Our two-drum surface winders offer performance features such as patented knife placement systems to improve cut accuracy and reduce setup times, dual bowed roll systems for enhanced slit separation, core placement and web threading assists for easier operations, an innovative shaftless winding technology for speed and versatility, and a streamlined finished roll discharge process to reduce downtime between sets. Each two-drum winder model can be equipped with an unwind tailored to exact product requirements and individual plant preferences for roll handling. Additionally, our surface winders provide advanced, user-friendly controls and a comprehensive, industry-leading safety system.
